A.B. Meech & Co. advertising card, c. 1830

Asa B. Meech settled in Buffalo in 1825. He erected Buffalo's second warehouse, on Buffalo Creek, and established a commission and forwarding business. In 1828, Meech moved his business to New York City, where he enjoyed great success. He returned to Buffalo in 1847, and spent the rest of his working life in the real estate business.

Chauncey H. and Bela D. Coe operated the western division of the Buffalo to Albany stage route. Chauncey ran the Canandaigua coach line, and Bela operated the Buffalo line. Shortly after Chaucney's death in 1835, Bela sold the business to Benjamin Rathbun.
